Saint-Véran
"A la Côte" 2020

Full-bodied and sunny

The cuvée

The vines used for Saint-Véran ‘A la Côte’ are among some of the highest-lying in the appellation. At their highest point of 500 metres, they benefit from rich clay-limestone soils and an ideal south-facing exposure, creating a naturally full-bodied, delicious-drinking wine.

Although traditional vinification is usually carried out in vat, Denis and Maxime Dutron decided to use 30% oak barrels for their 2020 vintage. This has helped enhance the characteristics of the terroir creating a wine full of promise and complexity.

Tasting

This 2020 Saint-Véran ‘A la Côte’ is a bright, pale gold. On the nose, it is very lightly spiced, with some candied fruit notes against a mineral backdrop.

The attack is crisp but gives way to a smooth mid-palate with hints of lemon and fresh hazelnuts. The finish is crisp and long.

Sommelier’s
recommendation

This 2020 Saint-Véran ‘A la Côte’ is perfect served with fish, seafood or even strong cheeses such as Beaufort, Comté or Bleu de Bresse.
